WebCT PowerLink for Microsoft Office

The WebCT PowerLink for Microsoft® Office was developed by WebCT to make it fast and easy to publish directly from Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint® to WebCT Vista. The WebCT PowerLink for Microsoft Office allows you to publish content directly from these Microsoft Office products into the WebCT Vista File Manager. Once you have installed the PowerLink, you will see an option to "Send to WebCT" in the Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint File Menus. Content can be saved in its native format or as HTML and can be published by designers into any course section or template in which they are enrolled. Students can also use the PowerLink to publish materials into their "My Files" folders.

Software Requirements

To use the PowerLink, you must have the following software:

  • Microsoft Windows® XP, Windows 2000, or Windows 2003 operating systems
  • Microsoft Office 2002 or later
  • Microsoft .NET Framework version 1.1
    The .NET Framework is a component of the Microsoft Windows operating system used to build and run Windows-based applications. You will be prompted during installation of the PowerLink to download and install .NET on the same computer as the PowerLink if it is not found on your computer.

    Important: You must also have a WebCT Vista user account on a server that is running WebCT Vista 3.0.x.

To set up and use the WebCT PowerLink for Microsoft Office

  1. Download and unzip the PowerLink installation file.
  2. Follow the instructions in the guide contained in the zip file.
